Focus on Vietnam 15.11.2006

TTS has this month established a representative office in Haiphong seaport in the north of Vietnam. The office will focus on sales and service of ships equipment and cargo handling systems, as well as support to shipyards in the region.

 - “Our new set-up in Vietnam will bring us closer to this interesting and expanding market”, says Johannes D. Neteland, President and CEO.

Our new entity in Vietnam specialises in sales of marine equipment to the Vietnamese shipyards. The TTS Vietnamese office will offer the whole range of TTS equipment including hatch covers, RoRo equipment, cranes and deck machinery to the marine industry in Vietnam. The TTS representation will also support the yards in Vietnam entering new ship type segments, equipped with specific ships equipment. Not only supplying products, TTS is also co-ordinating with Vinashin and the shipyards for training of local people in order to reach TTS’s long-term goal to be “the first and the last call supplier” for the marine industry in Vietnam.

TTS Vietnam will be formally registered as a subsidiary entity of TTS Ships Equipment AB in Gothenburg. With its new office in Vietnam, TTS Marine ASA has established 18 companies and offices in ten countries. TTS has around 600 employees with a primary emphasis on engineering skills. The TTS Group had during 2005 a turnover of NOK 1.150 million and achieved a 45 percent increase of turnover as per third quarter of 2006 compared to the same period last year.
